12 lawyers involved in Trump investigation fired

Kathmandu. Twelve lawyers investigating allegations against US President Donald Trump have been dismissed.According to CBS News, Acting Attorney General James McHenry has decided to remove the lawyers from their posts. The official said that they were removed from their posts, considering that they were unable to properly implement President Trump’s policies.

The dismissed are members of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team. They were involved in the investigation into Trump’s attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. The situation became tense when Trump supporters vandalized the building after Joe Biden was certain to win the election. Trump was then being investigated for trying to overturn the results of the election.

Smith was appointed as a special counsel for the investigation. But the investigation file was closed after Trump won the 2024 presidential election. Trump announced that he would remove them from his post as soon as he took office.

The dismissal decision took effect on Monday, according to the BBC.
Smith was considered a top official involved in the investigation of major corruption and activities that threaten national security. But he defended his investigation into Trump. He clarified that his investigation was not influenced by the Biden administration.

Meanwhile, Trump is preparing to sign three more executive orders. The new executive orders relate to transgender military recruitment, the reinstatement of those who refuse to take the Covid vaccine, and diversity and inclusion, according to the BBC.
