Lisbon: The head coach of the Portuguese national team, Fernando Santos, has been fired after being eliminated from the quarter-finals of the World Cup. In the quarter-finals of the World Cup held in Qatar, Portugal was eliminated from the World Cup after losing 1-0 to the African country Morocco.
He was appointed coach of Portugal eight years ago. Santos led Portugal to their first European Championship title in 2016. Similarly, in the year 2018-19, he also made the champion of the first edition of the Nations League.
