Messi inspired Argentina to World Cup final

Kathmandu. After an impressive performance by mentor/disciple Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez, Argentina reached the FIFA World Cup finals for the sixth time after defeating Croatia 3-0 at Lusail Stadium in Doha.

This is probably the last chance for Lionel Messi to win football’s most prestigious title. This success has not yet been achieved in his brilliant career. However, due to the excellent performance of Alvarez, the 22-year-old striker of Manchester City, it is decided that they will play the final at this stadium next Sunday. Former champions France and Morocco will face each other in the second semi-final on Wednesday.

Alvarez, the youngest striker of the Argentinian team, was initially struggling with a hamstring problem. However, in the 34th minute, Croatian goalkeeper Dominic Livakovic fouled him and Argentina got a penalty. Argentina took the lead after Lionel Messi scored.

Five minutes later, he doubled the team’s lead and Alvarez, who took the ball from the center with Messi’s header pass, beat three Croatian players and scored an attractive goal.

The third possible goal in the second half was relatively easy for Alvarez. Because Messi beat Croatia’s best defender and gave a backpass. He easily found the target from near the goal line.

For Argentina, this match was also a great revenge against Croatia. Croatia defeated Argentina 3-0 in the group stage of the 2018 World Cup.

An opportunity has come for Messi to make up for the disappointment he suffered in the final against Germany in 2014 at the prestigious Maracana stadium in Brazil.
